2005年畢業於香港大學醫學院，取得內外全科醫學士學位（MBBS）。2005年至2006年先後於瑪麗醫院、威爾斯親王醫院及伊利沙伯醫院完成實習。2006年加入香港大學瑪麗醫院外科學系，並於2008年完成基礎外科訓練，取得英國愛丁堡皇家外科醫學院院員（MRCSEd）資格。

及後加入瑪麗醫院乳腺外科工作，2008年至2012年先後於養和醫院、東華醫院、瑪麗醫院、廣華醫院、律敦治醫院完成高級外科訓練。2011年獲得香港外科醫學院最佳研究奬。2012年完成外科專科訓練，取得英國愛丁堡皇家外科醫學院院士（FRCSEd）、香港外科醫學院院士（FCSHK）及香港醫學專科學院院士[FHKAM(Surgery)]。

2013年獲晉升為瑪麗醫院副顧問醫生，及香港大學名譽臨床助理教授。同年創立「香港的乳癌治療資訊」，落實推廣公眾乳房健康知識教育，致力為乳癌患者及家屬作出適切支援。2015年完成香港外科醫學院乳腺外科專科訓練。2016年分別獲中山醫科大學香港校友會、社團診所醫生協會聘為學術顧問。2017年轉為私人執業，並獲香港家庭計劃指導會聘任為名譽醫學顧問醫生。2018年出任香港乳癌基金會名譽醫學顧問。

Dr. Ma graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong, in 2005 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). From 2005 to 2006, he completed his internship at Queen Mary Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital, and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. In 2006, he joined the Department of Surgery at Queen Mary Hospital, The University of Hong Kong, and completed his basic surgical training in 2008, becoming a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCSEd).

He subsequently joined the Division of Breast Surgery at Queen Mary Hospital and completed his higher surgical training from 2008 to 2012 at Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital, Tung Wah Hospital, Queen Mary Hospital, Kwong Wah Hospital, and Ruttonjee Hospital. In 2011, he received the Best Research Award from the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong. Dr. Ma completed his specialist training in Surgery in 2012, obtaining fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSEd), the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong (FCSHK), and the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine [FHKAM(Surgery)].

In 2013, Dr. Ma was promoted to Associate Consultant at Queen Mary Hospital and appointed as an Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor at The University of Hong Kong. In the same year, he founded 「Breast Cancer HK」 to promote public education on breast health and provide support for breast cancer patients and their families. He completed his specialist training in Breast Surgery with the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong in 2015. In 2016, he was appointed as an Academic Advisor by both the Hong Kong Alumni Association of Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences and the Association of Doctors in Community Clinics. Dr. Ma transitioned to private practice in 2017 and was appointed as an Honorary Medical Consultant by The Family Planning Association of Hong Kong. In 2018, he became an Honorary Medical Consultant for the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation.
